To support the safe return of Australian citizens and permanent residents from overseas, the cap on international arrivals into Australia will be lifted from 4000 to 6000 per week. This will occur through a staggered approach with most states lifting their caps from 27 September 2020.

Airlines will be expected to prioritise flights for Australian citizens and permanent residents. However, the higher caps will also improve the availability of flights for temporary residents who have been approved to travel to Australia.
VISA LOUNGE Global Immigration is pleased to report that applications for Temporary Skill Shortage visas and travel exemption requests for individuals in occupations on the new Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List (PMSOL) are receiving priority and being processed in a matter of days.
